SC moved for permanent IG police in Sindh

KARACHI, (SANA): The Supreme Court of Pakistan SC) has been moved for appointment of permanent Inspector General (IG) Sindh police.

The constitutional petition has been filed in SC’s branch registry Karachi on Tuesday.

Federation, Prime Minister, Secretary Establishment, Federal Secretary Interior, Chief Minister Sindh and Chief Secretary Sindh have been made party in the petition.

Constitutional petition says that since last one month a junior officer has been working as acting IG police instead of a permanent IG due to that an uncertain situation is present in the province.

The petitioner has requested the court to nullify the appointment of acting IG Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali and order the federal and provincial government to appoint a 22 grade officer as IG police in the province on permanent basis.

It is worth mentioning here that during last month the Sindh government removing IG Sindh Iqbal Mehmood had appointed Ghulam Haider Jamali as acting IG Sindh.
