Hamid Mir opposes restrictions imposed on JI leaders by Bangladeshi govt; Professor Khursheed appreciates efforts of journalists

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): The Senior Pakistani Journalist Hamid Mir, opposing the restrictions on the Jamaat-e-islami (JI) by the Bangladeshi government, has demanded of the Bangladeshi government to conduct transparent and fair case against the JI leaders in Bangladesh.

Hamid Mir who is now a days in Bangladesh to collect the award on behalf of his father Waris Mir to be conferred by the Bangladeshi government, in an interview with the Bangladeshi newspaper ‘daily Itefaq ‘demanded of the Bangladeshi government to end restrictions imposed on the JI the major party of the country and to conduct transparent and fair case against the JI leaders in Bangladesh.

Hamid Mir further said that the way the Bangladeshi government initiated cases against the Bangladeshi JI leaders are not justified, adding that he opposes the restrictions imposed on the JI leaders by the Bangladeshi government.

Meanwhile, Naib Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JIP) Professor Khursheed Ahmed supported standpoint of the Hamid Mir and thanked him for opposing the revenge actions taken by the Bangladeshi government against the JI leaders.

Professor Khursheed Ahmed also congratulated the senior journalists including Hamid Mir, Najam Sethi, Azhar Abbas, Sarmand Ali, Sikandar Hameed and others on being bestowed with the awards by the President Asif Ali Zardari on their excellent professional performance.

He appreciated the performance of these journalists and prayed best wishes for them.
