ANF foils attempt to smuggle heroin to London

ISLAMABAD, (SANA): Anti-Narcotics Force(ANF) foiled an attempt to smuggle heroin worth millions of rupees at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad on Wednesday.

According to ANF spokesperson, 7 kilograms of heroin was recovered from a passenger’s luggage during interrogation at Benazir International Airport. The rate of heroin is worth millions of rupees in the international market. The convict named Muhammad Chaudhry Mushtaq had hidden the heroin in his briefcase with the intention of carrying it to London.

He was flying to London from Islamabad by flight PK-785. The convict has been taken into custody and the police have begun the investigation.

Earlier this year, similar incidents were reported at Benazir International Airport in Islamabad. ANF took two British smugglers into custody after foiling a bid to smuggle drugs from Islamabad Airport to France in January 201. The ANF recovered two kilograms of heroin from their custody during the search. British smugglers, identified as Samuels Stella and Stan Stefan, were arrested by the security men. The foreign smugglers intended to smuggle the drugs through PIA s flight to France and both captured smugglers were moved to the police station for further interrogation.

Similarly, in June 2014, ANF foiled another bid of heroin smuggling at Benazir International Airport. According to details, the passenger who was a resident of Lahore was arrested after he was caught with 60 capsules of heroin. The smuggler was travelling to Abu Dhabi to smuggle heroin. The ANF also recovered 17 kilograms of hashish from a female passenger and arrested her.
