Air strikes in NWA kill 30 suspected militants: ISPR

MIRANSHAH, (SANA): At least 30 suspected militants were killed and six of hideouts destroyed in fresh air strikes carried out by fighter jets in Datta Khel, Marsikhel, and Kamsham areas of North Waziristan tribal region, the ISPR sources said.

According to ISPR statement, Pakistan army’s warplanes blitzed targets in Datta Khel, Marsi Khal and Marshaal areas this morning, killing 30 terrorists and destroying six militants’ hideouts.

Nearly 607 terrorists, many of them foreigners, have been killed in the tribal area since Pakistan Army started Zarb-e-Azb operation on June 15.

The army has cleared Miranshah and Mirali towns of North Waziristan whereas ground operation is underway in other parts.

On August 4, Towns of Miranshah, Mirali,Boya, Degan, and area up till Dattakhel had been cleared. 75 Rockets, large number of IEDs and suicide jackets were recovered during the clearance of surrounding areas of Mirali in Shahbaz Khel.

Earlier, according to a statement by ISPR operation Zarb-e-Azb had reached another landmark achievement of clearing out once terrorist stronghold Mir Ali by destroying 30 landmine making factories, killing 570 terrorists and destroying 98 hideouts by July 27.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif applauded the Jawans for this outstanding achievement of Zarb-e-Azb, saying that this success is due to their firm determination.
