Agencies directed to handle any emergency in costal areas

ISLAMABAD (SANA): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has directed the Provincial governments, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, National Disaster Management Authority and Pakistan Met office to work in tandem for handling any emergency situation in the coastal areas which may arise due to the cyclone.

The Prime Minister directed the concerned authorities to take all necessary measures required to save lives and property. He stressed the need to provide timely information to the fishermen and local people.

He also directed the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency to be prepared to rescue the people on fishing boats in the sea if need arises. He asked the administration to set up emergency centers fully equipped to provide relief and rescue services to the people in case of emergency.
