Unidentified gunmen kill 5 including two women of NGO
ISLAMABAD (SANA): Unidentified armed men shot dead five persons including two women of the World Vision NGO in Mansehra on Wednesday.
A police official said that some unknown armed men attacked the office of an NGO, World Vision and started indiscriminate firing leaving five persons including two women dead on the spot while the other six badly injured were rushed to hospital for medical treatment.
It is worth mentioning that most of the NGO staffs have restricted their movement because of violence in parts of the NWFP.
Eyewitnesses said that the building of the NGO was badly damaged including its furniture while the windowpanes were smashed completely as the attackers lobbed some hand grenades into the office premises.
Soon after the incident, interior minister Rehman Malik has directed the Inspector General of police of the northwestern Pakistan to present a detailed report on the incident.
He also directed to provide strict security to the NGOs’ buildings elsewhere in the northwestern area.
